Kira

I wished it was all a dream when I once again woke up in this hellhole. My back was hurting from sleeping on this dirty mattress, and having to use the bathroom every half-hour was not helping this situation because the bucket in the corner was now overflowing. How in the hell did I miss Mike's intentions toward me?

Speak of the damned Devil.

Mike walked into my personal hellhole with a big grin on his face. "Sweetheart, you need to eat."

Why the hell was he so happy?

His happy demeanor and my situation added fuel to my annoyance and hurt. I was hurt Mike was doing this, not just to me but to Austin. Mike had been like a brother to him, like all the guys of Demons United.

I backed myself into the corner to put distance in between us. "Don't you dare call me sweetheart. I can't believe you would do something like this. We were friends, Mike. Austin considers you his brother."

He walked closer to me and I slid back further. "I want more than a friendship with you, Kira. I did this for us. I needed to get you away from him. He's brainwashed you into believing he's perfect, that he wouldn't hurt you. That he didn't fuck Natalia that day in the bar. I told you to go up there so you would see with your own eyes who the miserable fuck really is!"

"I don't believe you. Austin would never hurt me like that."

"Oh, because he's the perfect husband, huh?"

I looked at Mike, eyes wide. I’d hoped to keep both my pregnancy and marriage from him, afraid if he found out he would flip out and do something irrational. More irrational than having me kidnapped. As soon as I realized he was involved, I’d removed my wedding ring and prayed he hadn’t been paying attention.

"You think you're the only one Demon's been fucking, Kira?" He cocked his head to the side and laughed, loud. "Don't be so naive. What the hell did you think he was doing all those long nights at the bar while he was treating you like shit? You think he was spending his time alone at the clubhouse when bitches throw themselves at him just to say they slept with Demon, the president of Demons United?" He shook his head.

I tried to ignore the comments. I refused to believe Austin would ever hurt me like that. What I saw between him and Natalia, I never let him give his side of the story, but he would never hurt me.

He wouldn't do that to me.

Mike ran his hand down his face. Irritation built in his eyes. "Don't look so surprised, Kira. I saw the ring on your finger when I took you from the parking lot. I can't believe you married that bastard! But, not to worry princess. Once he's dead, we can move on with our lives and you will be wearing my ring."
